National Brain Tumor Society and Flat World Media at Citizens Bank Park representing Brain Tumor awareness night with the Philadelphia Phillies!
Magee Rehab, through a grant from the Kessler Foundation, developed a four part series, A Day in the Life all which show those with spinal cord injuries and who are in wheelchairs how to adapt to their new physical limitations and be self-sufficient. The concept was developed by Anna Martian, a therapist at Magee, shot and edited by Flat World Media Productions. Topics addressed include cooking in the kitchen, overall home mobility, dressing, home modifications, accessibility in the home and community, running errands, car transfers, public transportation, shopping, going out with friends, working out, and weight lifting to name a few.

Having worked with the Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Foundation, almost since it's conception, we at Flat World were proud to be informed that the foundation merged with the National Brain Tumor Society and are now reaching nation wide awareness.
This is a video we produced and will be playing on the big screen at the Phillies game tonight!
It's been a minute since posting something on the blog. First off I'd like to inform that I am loving the Panasonic AG AF-100 as my prime camera. Using a multitude of lenses to achieve the best possible quality images. That being said, we have acquired a great deal more equipment and have been evolving as a company within the last year, which is great news. We have added some new clients to the list and welcomed back Shorty USA for product marketing videos. Here is one of 5 new videos we have produced for shorty USA to date.
In the last few years Flat World Media Productions has built a great and lasting relationship with Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. It started with the REACH program, developing two videos for internal employee training and recognition. Then it blossomed into a short training video for wheel chair transitions and mobility which was sent over seas to Iraq for use in there newly reestablished rehabilitation centers designed for the citizens who suffered neglect and injury during the war. That video also found it's way into Africa and other countries who could benefit from it's information.
We followed up with a multipurpose welcome to Magee video which explored the inner workings and functions of the hospital and staff and have photographed several events incuding the Friends of Jerry Segal Classic Golf outing and fundraiser. Jerry, who's contributions have aided the hospital in so many great ways, and who has endured for over twenty years with limited mobility, recently returned to Magee himself for rehabilitation. Flat World Media Productions was brought in to document his recovery and develop a new video for the Jerry Segal Classic this year.
If that wasn't enough, a grant from Kessler Rehabilitation Hospital allowed for us to start production on a new four-part video series called, “A Day in the Life.” It show what real city life is like for someone in a wheelchair. The project was conceived by Anna Martin, a Therapist at Magee and the life of the party if you where ever to meet here. Here is her blog entry on the first day of shooting! Betsy Von Awesome

The world as we know it scientifically is round. You know that, I know that, your ancestors at some point figured it out. But there are two worlds. The one we live on and the one we live in. The one we live in is flat while the one we live on is round. The flat one is you sitting in front of your computer right now reading these words on your flat monitor while stealing glances at your flat phone or your flat screen TV, multitasking. People in the Japan are video chatting with people in California, in real time. The communication barrier has never been so wide spread in all of human history. The entire world is in your face and on your flat screen. So were once we waited for the paperboy to deliver news from abroad, there’s an app for that. A level playing field with consumers and producers and a need for speed make this world we live in more flat everyday. So to express that bit of clarity, I named the business Flat World Media Productions, because it’s the world we live in.
